Geometric group theory, measured group theory
I study how randomness and geometry interact in discrete groups, such as mapping class groups, hyperbolic and acylindrically hyperbolic groups, CAT(0) groups, and Anosov groups. I showed that hyperbolic-like (or Morse) elements are generic in such groups with respect to random walks and counting problems. I am also interested in the dynamics of group actions arising in geometric topology, such as the mapping class group action on the space of measured laminations. More recently, I have been studying measured group theory, concerning various invariant measures from group actions as well as percolation on groups.
