TITLE
[Postdoc Pitch] Observing the Universe's Large-Scale Structure
ABSTRACT
The Universe displays a pattern known as the cosmic web, consisting of galaxy clusters connected by large filaments and separated by voids. To understand how galaxy clusters assemble over cosmic time, I study their progenitors, known as protoclusters, by applying and extending a protocluster identification method based on the spherical collapse model. This approach has been applied to lightcone data from the Horizon Run 5 (HR5) simulation, enabling the study of protocluster candidates across a wide range of scales, with future applications to observational data.
