(String group Journal Club) Entropic Order and Arithmetic Ising Models
ABSTRACT
Last year a discovery was made of systems wherein competing notions of disorder result in order that persists at arbitrarily high temperatures, thereby evading established no-go theorems of high-temperature order. The phenomenon has been dubbed 'entropic order', and during this journal club meeting I will provide a pedagogical review of the concept and explain it through simple, exactly solvable models in the literature.
