The Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model is a quantum mechanics of a large number of fermions that offers a dual description of 2d quantum gravity. It is known that this model can be solved exactly in a double-scaling limit. I will first illustrate the techniques of exact analysis in this limit, and then present my recent result on the algebraic aspects of this model that uses the special properties of degenerate matter operators.
