TITLE | Incompressible fluids: open problems and classical theory |
ABSTRACT | We introduce the incompressible Euler and Navier-Stokes equations, which describe the evolution of volume preserving fluids. The issue of long-time dynamics remains largely open even in the much simpler case of two-dimensional fluids. We present a few relevant concrete open problems, and discuss classical well-posedness theory: global existence of strong and weak solutions. |
