|TITLE||Data-driven quantitative modeling of complex systems|
Recently available large data-sets open the possibility of modeling quantitatively the structure and function and thereby establishing the laws of macroscopic complex systems, which have defied analytical understanding given the huge size and complexity of their degrees of freedom. In this talk, we present how data analysis and mathematical modeling efforts can be combined to gain quantitative understanding and make predictions about the structure and evolution of some ecological networks and international trade as the examples.
