  • Professor
    • The School of Mathematics of Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) invites exceptional candidates in the field of Mathematics for the Professor position. Applicants should have demonstrated strong commitment to research and possess an excellent track record. The ability of establishing collaboration teams and training junior scientists will also be considered in the evaluation of candidates.
    • The initial appointment is for one to three years with possibilities of renewal for up to seven additional years. On-campus housing may be supported upon request, depending on the availability of vacancies. There are no teaching duties.

  • KIAS Fellow
    • The School of Mathematics of Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) invites applications for KIAS Fellow appointments in mathematics. Applicants should have demonstrated an outstanding record of research. Research potential and research leadership will also be considered in the evaluation of candidates.
    • The initial appointment is for five years with a possibility of a one-time renewal for up to two additional years. The starting salary is 70,000,000 Korean won (current exchange rate); an individual research grant of 30,000,000 Korean Won and a welfare card will be available each year. On-campus housing may be supported upon request, depending on the availability of vacancies. There are no teaching duties.

  • Research Fellow
    • The School of Mathematics at the Korea Institute for Advanced Study (KIAS) invites applications for the positions at the level of postdoctoral research fellow in mathematics.
    • Applicants are expected to have demonstrated exceptional research potential, including major contributions beyond or through the doctoral dissertation. The annual salary starts from 48,500,000 Korean Won (current exchange rate); an individual research grant of 10,000,000 Korean Won and a welfare card will be available each year. The initial appointment for this position is for two years with possibility of a one-time renewal of up to two to three additional years, depending on research performance and the needs of the research program at KIAS.

    • The School of Mathematics accepts applications for Project Research Fellow positions until December 1, 2021 for the following research fields.
      • Research Area 1: Analysis (including Probability), with focus on Analytic Implementation of Conformal Field Theory and its Application to SLE
      • Research Area 2: Analysis and PDEs, with focus on Nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equations
    • The contract period of each position may be adjusted according to the project/program conditions.
